Story Writing Contest
(*last day to enter: July 1st, 2025)
Eligibility of Authors
Open to writers between ages 6-12, from any country on Earth (sorry, moon people)
Entries must be made by the parent or guardian of the author.
Rules and Conditions
Maximum word count: 2500 words.
The text must be typed and submitted in a .doc or .docx file format.
The word doc should be formatted in 12 pt type in Arial font in black.
Do not submit any images.
Submissions created using artificial intelligence tools are not acceptable and will be disqualified.
Stories must be original and written entirely by the author.
Only single-author stories qualify (no co-authored stories).
Limit of one story submission per author.
Stories will be accepted in English only.

Judging Criteria
Applicants may be placed into age appropriate groupings. Submissions will be scored in three areas:
Creativity and originality of plot and/or themes
Story structure, characters, and setting
Style and tone – the quality of writing
Prize
The Submission(s) receiving the highest score will be awarded the following:
